All students will register for Fall 2026 Courses online beginning in July. In order to prepare for registration, it is important for students to review the timeline listed below and review:
- Your Major's First Semester Registration Guide and Curriculum Template Information
- RPI's AP Credit, International Baccalaureate Credit, and Dual Enrollment/Transfer Credit policies for Incoming Students.
- It is recommended you submit all of your AP/IB/Transfer Credit to RPI as soon as you are able to!
- The steps required to set up your RPI Email and your RCS UserID account. Activating your RCS UserID account is necessary in order to register for Fall courses!
Academic Advising Consultation: June 26 – July 9
This is a time when students review material provided by the HUB about their curriculum template and course selection. During this time it is important to familiarize yourself with how to use the Student Information System (SIS) and attend or watch your department's webinars to help guide you through registration.
For additional assistance with planning your Fall semester course schedule, you can email the School of Science Advising HUB staff at sciencehub@rpi.edu or you can also schedule a remote one-on-one meeting online.
Department Specific Webinars
There will be hour-long department webinars to discuss curriculum, course registration, and other related academic topics. All department webinars are open to all students, in addition to declared majors. Feel free to attend as many webinars as you would like! The webinars will be recorded and posted on this page once completed.
You can click on the link within the 'Session Time' columns to join the webinar. You can either download the Webex app on to your computer to attend, or click "Join By Browser" when the Webex window pops up. The password for all of the webinars is 'Science2026'. - Your Major's First Semester Registration Guide reviews which Fall '26 semester courses you should register for.
- Your Major's guide also reviews which courses you should register for if you plan on bringing AP, IB, or Transfer Credit to RPI, as such credit may change your first semester schedule.
- The First Semester Registration Guides also review the HASS Core requirements for RPI School of Science undergraduate students.
- The Fall 2026 HASS Inquiry course options can be found here: Fall 2026 HASS Inquiry Courses
- Your Major's Curriculum Template outlines the course requirements for graduation.
- How to Register for Courses in SIS
- This guide has step by step instructions on how to register for courses in SIS.
- It also reviews how to check your registration time ticket and to see if you have any holds on your account (which must be cleared before your registration time).
- QuACS Guide & Registration Tips
- QuACS is an unofficial course planning website that was created by Computer Science students as part of the Rensselaer Center for Open Source (RCOS) Program.
- QuACS can help you build a draft semester schedule. Having a draft schedule with specific sections of courses picked out will make the registration process a lot quicker when it is your registration time. You can even create multiple draft schedules in QuACS. This way, if one of your courses fills up before you register, you have back up schedules already!
- QuACS can make semester course planning easier through its ability to automatically remove courses (or sections of courses) that conflict time wise with other courses you have already selected.
- QuACS is not used for registration - just for schedule planning!
- SIS is where students register for courses, and SIS will have the most up to date information on how many seats are left in a specific course or section of a course.
