The Department of Mathematical Sciences is recognized both nationally and internationally as a leading center of applied mathematics research coupled with a well-established reputation for outstanding education in all fields of mathematics.  We are expanding our research and graduate training into new and growing areas of applied mathematics, and improving our existing educational programs as well as developing new programs for education, training and career development in mathematics.
