My research experience in quantum computing at RPI focused on tackling complex challenges associated with benchmarking Quantum Phase Estimation algorithms on real hardware. Working through the complexities of hardware constraints and error mitigation helped me develop a mindset for methodical troubleshooting, navigating ambiguity, and collaborating effectively in problem-solving. Having the opportunity to learn from and work with such brilliant people really helped prepare me for the professional world. Presenting this work also gave me great opportunities to network with alumni and industry professionals, honing my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to a wide range of audiences. The resilience and collaborative mindset I developed at RPI have been foundational as I transition into my role as an Electrical Engineer at Boeing, where I’ll be applying those exact system-level debugging and teamwork skills to systems integration testing.
