ITWS at Rensselaer presents a unique opportunity for students to combine a mastery of Information Age technologies with an academic discipline of their choice.

  • RPISEC, a student run organization, participates in a number of computer security competitions throughout the school year, typically placing among the top undergraduate US teams.

Rensselaer students took top prizes in the North American finals of the 14th annual New York University Cyber Security Awareness Week (CSAW) games –the world’s largest and most comprehensive set of student-led security challenges. From an initial pool of more than 12,000 competitors in 98 countries, more than 400 students participated in CSAW final rounds held in five regional hubs worldwide, including New York.

On Friday, October 13, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute President Shirley Ann Jackson hosted alumni, guests, and campus members at the launch of a capital campaign designed to position Rensselaer for its third century of leadership in research and education. “Transformative: Campaign for Global Change” will seek to raise $1 billion for student scholarships, faculty support, and campus enhancements.
