B.S. + M.S. in Computer Science

Enriching the Foundation in Computer Science Beyond a Bachelor’s Degree

A master's degree is becoming increasingly valuable. A master’s degree in computer science enables students to round out their educations before embarking on their professional career. Accelerated master's degree programs save the cost and study time of graduate admission tests, application fees, and extra courses.

By applying for an accelerated master's program, you can start taking courses toward your master's in your junior or senior year, get dual course credit for both your undergraduate and master's degree, and continue your undergraduate financial aid through your ninth and tenth semesters of study.

To apply to the MS co-term program, undergraduates must satisfy the departmental and Rensselaer requirements listed here.  In particular, students must supply a  statement of research and goals and obtain a letter from the MS advisor recommending the student, and detailing the research project or thesis.

The CS Dept will announce the MS co-term application deadline for each semester 2 weeks in advance of the Office of Graduate Education deadline. Advisors will email their support letters directly to: coterm-ref@cs.rpi.edu.
